NAIL TRIMMING SERVICE

Nail trimming is offered only if your dog is calm, cooperative, and accepting of nail handling.
If your dog is not safe to handle, you will need to attend a veterinary clinic where additional staff and sedation options are available.

Important Notes About Nail Trimming

• Nail trims are conditional on your dog’s behavior and tolerance
• Dogs that resist, bite, mouth, snarl, crocodile roll, scramble, pull limbs away, or attempt to escape cannot be safely trimmed
• All known behavior issues must be disclosed at the time of booking
• The groomer may stop the service at any time if the dog becomes unsafe

Overgrown Nails

Dogs with neglected nails may have an elongated quick (the vein inside the nail).
In these cases:

• The nail cannot be cut back to a short length
• Only the safe, allowable length can be trimmed
• Multiple trims over time may be required to shorten the quick gradually

Nail Trim Pricing

• Adding a nail trim to an existing wash service is cheaper than booking a nail-trim-only appointment.

• If the nail trim is added to a wash service and the nails cannot be trimmed safely, you will not be charged for the nail trim. The wash fee still applies.

• If the appointment is a nail-trim-only service and the nails cannot be trimmed due to behavior or lack of tolerance, the full fee is still payable because the appointment time has been allocated and the groomer has attended the property.

• FURtastic Dog Wash Byford will attempt to trim your dog’s nails, but the service will stop immediately if the dog shows any behavior that makes the nail trim unsafe or impossible. This includes:
– biting
– attempting to bite
– mouthing
– snarling or growling
– limb pulling
– flailing
– scrambling
– crocodile rolling
– attempting to escape

This rule applies to all appointments.

EAR CLEANING SERVICE

Is your dog:

• Shaking its head?
• Scratching its ears?
• Showing brown discharge inside the ear?
• Producing an unpleasant ear smell?

Your dog may need a gentle, professional ear clean.

If you’re not confident cleaning your dog’s ears yourself, FURtastic Dog Wash Byford can assist during your wash appointment.

What This Service Includes

FURtastic Dog Wash Byford uses a specialized dog ear-cleaning solution to:

• Loosen wax and debris
• Reduce odor
• Clean the outer ear leather safely
• Support ongoing ear hygiene

Ears are cleaned gently and only to the level of comfort and tolerance your dog allows.

Important: Ear Infections

If your dog has an ear infection, swelling, strong odor, redness, pain, or discharge, they must be assessed by a veterinary clinic.
Ear infections require prescription medication and cannot be treated through grooming.

About the Ear-Cleaning Solution

FURtastic uses an alcohol-free, non-irritant antimicrobial ear cleanser designed for:

• Regular ear hygiene maintenance
• Removing wax, dirt, and moisture
• Helping reduce conditions that allow bacteria and yeast to thrive

This product is safe for routine ear care and compatible with veterinary treatments when needed.

Ear cleaning can be added to any dog wash service for an additional fee.

FLEA RINSE SERVICE

Warmer months bring an increase in fleas.

FURtastic Dog Wash Byford prefers that all dogs are kept on a regular monthly flea treatment and arrive free of fleas. However, even well-cared-for dogs can occasionally pick up fleas.

If fleas are present, FURtastic can provide an immediate but temporary solution.

What the Flea Rinse Does

The flea rinse used by FURtastic Dog Wash Byford contains Pyrethrins, a naturally-derived pesticide that targets and kills:

• adult fleas
• lice
• ticks (including paralysis ticks)

It provides:

• Immediate removal of adult fleas present on the dog
• Repellency of adult fleas for up to 3 days
• A pleasant scent
• A shiny coat
• Compatibility with long-term flea treatments

Important: This rinse does not kill flea eggs. Eggs will still hatch, so a long-term flea prevention program is required.

Automatic Treatment

Any dog found to have fleas will automatically receive a flea rinse, and a flea-rinse fee will be added to the final total.
This protects your dog, other clients’ dogs, and the hygiene of the mobile salon.

Ingredients

The flea rinse contains:

• Pyrethrins — 10 g/L
• Piperonyl Butoxide — 18 g/L
• N-Octyl Bicycloheptene Dicarboximide — 30 g/L
